Honor, Sogginess, and Earl Grey:
Welcome to the High-Stakes World of Tea Dueling

Ladies, gentlemen, and esteemed mechanical enthusiasts, pray draw your chairs close and steady your nerves, for you are about to witness the ultimate crucible of Victorian resolve—a sport where fortunes are made, reputations are ruined, and trousers are occasionally ruined by scalding crumbs. While the uninitiated might naively believe that a cup of hot tea and a Malted Milk biscuit exist solely for gentle afternoon sustenance, the Honourable Association of Tea Duellists knows the truth: they are deadly weapons of psychological warfare. Today, two brave souls will face each other across the mahogany table with nothing but five seconds of submergence, a ticking timer, and pure grit separating a triumphant “Nom” from a structural collapse of tragic proportions. Keep your handkerchiefs at the ready, mind the splash zone, and prepare yourselves for a contest of supreme dignity, absolute absurdity, and dangerously saturated baked goods!

How It Works:

Two competitors sit opposite each other, overseen by a referee known as the Tiffin Master and a server called the Pot Master.

1. The Tiffin Master presents a plate of identical biscuits (usually Malted Milks or Rich Teas) and announces: "Choose your weapon."

2. On the count of three, both duelists submerge at least 75% of their biscuit into piping-hot tea for precisely five seconds.

3. They lift the dripping, structurally compromised biscuit into the air. The goal is a test of nerves: you must wait as long as possible before eating it.

4. Victory Condition: To win, you must achieve a clean "Nom"—eating the entire biscuit in one bite without a single soggy crumb falling onto the table, your clothes, or into your lap. If your biscuit structurally collapses into the cup or onto your shirt, you suffer a humiliating defeat.
